The client is a regional authority in Croatia, and the key stakeholder an NGO dedicated to rescuing stray animals and educating about responsible pet ownership. They had published 2 illustrated children's books before and for the third they needed a new illustrator.
The topic I took on is about sterilising pets, which came after the first book talking about chipping pets and the second about vaccination. The main characters remain the same: a girl named Dora is a dog and cat owner. Her dog's name is Flegi and her cat's Viki. Flegi is the protagonist after whom each book is named.
This book is named "Kastrirani Flegi", meaning "Sterilised Flegi". The style was somewhat limited to the consistency with the previous project but was never supposed to be a copy.
