Illustrated Booklet "Olive Oil"
Project: "Interpretation Center, Old Olive Pressing Facilities", Punat, Croatia, 2021.
Client: Punat Tourist Board
The project involves illustrative design and digitalised coloured pencil drawings turned into illustrations. I was the author of all the sketches and texts. The final design of the Booklet as well as the press preparation was conducted by my then colleague Igor.
The task was to produce a booklet for the promotion of a local Interpretation Center located in old olive oil production facilities in the village of Punat in Croatia.

The first task was to sketch the pressing stone, the vital part of the traditional olive oil making. The goal was to create a logo from its lines.
The sketch was not intended to be a full artwork with composition and shades but rather a test of aesthetics.
After that, I "extracted" a  basic set of lines so that we get a minimalist sketch with usability in illustrative design.
This minimalist sketch was traced to vector for the purpose of the logo and other visual elements.
Notice the logo in the context? "Stari toš" is the name of the old olive making facilities.
Finally, here are a few illustrated pages of the booklet, all based on the theme of the olive oil. The paper chosen for this product gives a sensation that the images are drawn directly rather than printed.
